Director
A resident of Orange Park Acres since 1966, Lois became active in the “family” of OPA early on as the mother of 3 active children in a rural setting. She served in various leadership positions in the Orange Acres Back Breakers (OABB) 4H club teaching cooking and learning to raise milk goats. Lois served 7 years on Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Boards, including 2 as President. A longtime member of the Orange Park Association, she served 1 year as Recording Secretary. In 2004, Lois researched and found many past OPA residents and organized a 2006 OPA Reunion and BBQ. Over 500 past and present OPA residents attended the event at Irvine Lake.
An early member of the Orange Park Acres Women’s League, Mrs. Widly served as President from 2007 thru 2011 after a very successful run as Vice President – Ways and Means. She spearheaded the drive to expand membership to include the next generation of women of OPA in the effort to foster friendship, philanthropy and a sense of community. Numerous new fundraisers and community events were the result – and she still finds time to be an active member of the Orange County Organic Garden Club.
A retired registered nurse, Lois specialized in the Addiction and Mental Health field. She worked in major hospital settings and had a private practice as an Addiction Interventionist for over 12 years.
As a Director for OPA-ETC, Lois brings her knowledge of the history of the OPA community and the inner workings of non-profits and fundraising activities. She also brings her contagious enthusiasm and sense of the true spirit of Orange Park Acres.
